The magnificent 16th century clerestory roof, which was completely restored between 1973 and 1975. During the restoration, the roof was found to contain a number of musket balls, which are presumed to have been fired during the visit of the Parliamentarians in 1645
Between the clerestory windows, the niches contain restored 17th century paintings of various saints.
