2 houses. Late C18. Squared coursed limestone with Collyweston slate roof.
Originally each 2-unit plans with rear wing. 2 storeys with attics. Together
comprising a 6-window range of C19 casements under gauged stone heads. First
floor, centre window of No.56 is blind. 6-panel door to centre of No.56 is under
gauged stone head. C20 door and lintel to centre of No.54. 2 pairs of hipped
roof dormers with casement windows. Ashlar gable parapets at ends and between
dwellings. Remains of ashlar stacks at ridge and ends, one with sundial. C18
wing to rear, also C19 extensions. Interior of No.56 has remains of open
fireplace. No.56 was used as the Wheatsheaf Public house when the interior was
altered.
