This is a photo of the inscription above a door at the rear which opened into a greenhouse or conservatory. The words come from William Cowpers 1795 poem 'The Task' book 3 and reads
Who loves a garden, loves a greenhouse too
Unconscious of a less propitious clime
There blooms exotic beauty, warm and snug
While the winds whistle and snow descends'
