Laithe-house and adjoining cottages .House 1770s. cottages
c.1800. Hammer-dressed watershot stone with graduated stone
slate roof. Single-depth 2-storey house with barn to right,
lean-to against left gable and cottages to extreme right.
Square-cut door surround flanked by 5 and 3-light windows. 9
and 3-light windows on first floor. All have recessed flat-
faced stone mullions. Barn door to right with corbelled
lintel and shippon door to right. Cornice and 2 ridge
chimney stacks. Blocked winnowing door to rear. The cottages
are obscured on the ground floor by a timber lean-to and
have 3 and 5-light first floor windows and a 9-light second
floor workshop window. Kneelers. 2-light gable windows and a
blocked taking-in door to rear at first floor level.
