The Broadheath Canal Warehouse was build in 1833 to provide covered storage for the growing trade along the Bridgewater Canal. This included raw cotton and finished wares from Stayl Mill. The main merchanise was from the market gardens of Broadheath, Timperley and Altrincham into the thriving city of Manchester.
Currently the Altrincham & Bowdon Civic Society are campainging for the Heritage Warehouse to be brought back to an appropriate level of repair and to goto be a museum of local life and the great engineering industries of Broadheath.
