Workshop used for planking in the hat industry. C18.
Watershot stone with graduated stone slate roof. Small
single-storey building with brick addition to left. Door
with window on either side, that to the right retaining
glazing bars. Two windows to right gable. One window and
four small steam release windows to rear. All windows have
stone lintels and sills. Gable chimney stack with water
tabling and oversailing course. Hand-powered planking
process used water from the nearby spring in the steam block
processing and water forming of felt hats.
