So what significance does this lovely old house have to me?. Well my Mother and Father were both in service at this house when they got engaged and married, my mother was a housemaid and my father was an under gardener, both working for Colonel and Mrs William Pitt of Petts Place in 1930. I have a photograph taken in 1930 from a local newspaper which shows that little has changed on the front of this house since those days.
