Bridge over Leeds-Liverpool Canal, c.1810. (Engineers Robert Whitworth
and Joseph Priestley). Coursed sandstone blocks. Elliptical arch with
rock-faced voussoirs; bands, parapets with ridged copings and pilastered
(north) ends. Two pipes piercing the abutments cross the arch. Forms
group with nos. 49-53 Blackburn Road (Canal Warehouse, q.v.).
