Small farmhouse with attached barn, early C19, forming left half of row known
as Yates Cottages. Watershot coursed sandstone, stone slate roof with chimney
at left gable. No.1 is double-depth single bay and 2 storeys with plain
doorway and vertical rectangular windows, integral with the barn; this is 3
bays and 2 storeys with segmental-headed openings: a large wagon doorway with
double boarded doors in the middle bay, a window above, and a window and upper
loading door in each side bay, all of similar size and shape with segmentally
undercut stone lintels. (Abutting and set back slightly at right end is No.3
Yates cottages , q.v.).
