Beresford House

A Grade II Listed Building in Heather, Leicestershire

Beresford House, 1 and 3 Newton Road, Heather

Uploader's Comments

Farmhouse, late C18, similar in general style to the Manor House. Flemish bond brickwork. Three storey double depth plan with symmetrical facade, except for the staircase window. Central door with arched decorated fanlight, and doorcase with Doric columns and open pediment. Short string course to either side of doorway links it to small windows. That on the left is restored: it was a C20 doorway. The modern glazing keeps the outward appearance of the original sash windows. Stone fret arched heads and keystones. Upper storey of low height. Hipped roof of very low pitch. (Photo May 2008).
