House and school room (now wholly in domestic use), dated 1832 on plaque. Of
coursed squared stone with Collyweston stone slate roofs. House of 2 storeys and
2 window range. Coped gable and end stack to south. 1st floor 2-light casement
windows with leaded panes, cambered heads and cills. C20 lean-to ground floor
addition (with glazed door flanked by 2 windows) obscures original doorway, to right
hand side, with rectangular fanlight with glazing bars, and school bell in square
frame with long iron bell-pull. School room to north,of one storey, has 2 windows as
those to the 1st floor of the house, but with shutters, with plaque between, reading
"This school was built by the C Dow of Pomfret and the rector 1832". Lateral stack
and lean-to addition to rear.
