GV II
House and butcher's shop, now part of public house. C18 range attached to
late C19 house. Coursed sandstone rubble with pantile roof. 2 storeys and
attic; 4-window front. Plank door to centre right with 8-pane former shop
window to left, both with timber lintels. Two 16-pane sashes further to
left and four 12-pane sashes to first floor, all with flat arches and
painted stone sills. Sun Insurance firemark between first-floor windows to
left. Stepped eaves course. Two C19 gabled dormers with plain bargeboards
to attic. Coped gables and shaped kneelers. C19 part of the public house
is not of special interest. Included for group value.
