SK 52 SE HOTON LOUGHBOROUGH ROAD 1/38 No.12

GV II

House, 1810. Brick with hipped slate roof of a low pitch. 2 storeys, 3 bays and symmetrical facade. Central doorway with fluted pilasters, 1 steep open pediment, fanlight and 6-panelled door. 2 canted bay windows to ground floor with moulded jambs and deep architraves. Upper windows are 4-light sashes with flat gauged brick heads. Wooden eaves cornice. Inscribed stone in gable, "W. Gill, 1810". Gill family listed in C19 directories as farmers and graziers.
