Alabaster stone depicting an infant in swaddling clothes and head laid on a tasselled cushion - Of your charitie praye for the soul of John Eyre son of Cristofer Eyre Gent, whiche dede the xiiii (14th) daye of Aprill in the yere of Our Lord God McccccLii (1552). The face has been removed by iconoclasts, who may have mistaken the ordinary crossed bands of swaddling on an infant for specially Holy multiple crosses. (Photo Mar 2007).
