Market Cross, Bottesford

Uploader's Comments

Market Cross. C15. Limestone. Square section base stands on flat plinth, the whole supported on 5 stone steps, much of which are C20 repairs. Base with large stop-angles and a shield in each of 4 faces carved with de Roos arms (device of 3 leather water flasks, water bougets in blazonry), now badly weathered. Truncated square section shaft rises from base and is immediately chamfered into octagonal section. (Photo Oct 2012).
