Former wood and coal store and servants' lodgings, now a house.
Mid C17 with early C20 alterations and additions. Banded
ironstone and limestone with ashlar dressings and half hipped
Collyweston slate roof. Coped hips. Grouped coped stone lateral
stack. 2 storeys plus attics, 3 bays. South end has to left a
recessed C20 door. Above, a 3 light mullioned casement with
moulded mullion, chamfered reveal and leaded glazing. Above, to
right, a stair light with chamfered surround. Above again, a
central smaller 3 light mullioned casement. East side has 2 C20
casements with concrete lintels. Above, to left, a stair light
with a chamfered surround. Above again, a central 2 light
mullioned casement. Above again, a slate hung gabled dormer with
a 2 light casement. North end has a C20 casement and above, a
central 3 light mullioned casement. Above again, a similar
smaller casement. West side has.an off-centre C20 door flanked
to right by a casement. Beyond to right, a mullioned casement.
Above, a central slate hung gabled dormer with a 2 light
casement. Interior has stone spiral staircase, a chamfered span
beam and a C17 style plaster corner fireplace. Outside, to
south, an ironstone boundary wall with moulded coping, approx. 30
M long, with a range of C20 lean-to wooden sheds. This building
was erected as a fuel store and servants' lodgings to Cold
Overton Hall.
