30 metres south-west
of gatehouse at

Barn. c1700. Limestone rubble with some brick dressings and slate roof. South
wall has porch to main entrance, now partly blocked. To the right is a wide
entrance with timber lintel, to the left a doorway with a pitching doorway above
it. Left hand gable has brick coping. The roof covering is missing from the two
right hand bays, following a fire. The north wall has a projection which appears
to be a blocked canopy to a cart entrance. Interior: the trusses visible at the
time of survey have tie-beams resting on wall-plates, raking struts, and king-posts
with high straight braces to the principals. The central bay has straight wind-
braces. Forms part of a group of buildings on the site of the medieval vill of
Rushall.
