TL 31NE WARE RURAL BAKERS END

2/27 Tudor Cottage

GV II

House. Late C15 or early C16, N wing C19, extended to rear in
1970's. Timber frame plastered. Steep old red tile roofs.
Small former open hall with 2-storeys N crosswing. One and a
half storeys N wing. One and a half and 2-storeys gable W wing
in matching materials in 1970's. Floor inserted in hall in C17.
Internal gable chimney on S probably early C18. Main front faces
E with jettied gabled wing projecting right of centre. Gabled 2-
light dormer on eaves at older left part. 2-light flush casement
below dormer with dripboard on shaped brackets. Former doorway
in angle beside projecting wing now a 2-light window with similar
dripboard. Angle brackets and bull nosed joists to jetty of
crosswing with similar 2-light window in upper floor and 3-light
below. 3-light window with dripboard in right hand part.
