TRING RURAL PUTTENHAM SP 81 SE 3/136 Statue of Adonis next SE corner of - house at Grange Farm GV II Statue. '1741', 'JAN VAN LOGTTAREN' inscribed on base at side and rear. Brought from The Green Park, Aston Clinton c.1948. Carved stone. A larger than lifesize standing statue of a male figure with sandals and cloak accompanied by a winged child (now headless) standing over a rectangular quiver of arrows. Moulded bluestone plinth with concave corners. One of a matched pair with statue of Venus (q.v.) and one contemporary plinth is nearby (q.v.).
