REDMARLEY D'ABITOT LOWBANDS

Cottage. 1847 by F. O'Connor for the National Co-operative Land
Company. Minor alterations late C20. Random rubble stone walls,
rendered; slate roof. Three rooms wide, one deep, single storey.
Slightly projecting centre bay: half-glazed door with marginal
lights in centre, under open-ended, half-glazed porch, roof and
gable glazed. Either side an original, tall, 8-pane casement
window: dumb-bell ventilator in gable, plain bargeboards, gable
finial. Either side, set back, wings with late C20 large-pane
windows in original openings. Hipped roof, centre chimney to rear
and on right end. Part of Chartist settlement, listed principally
for historical and sociological reasons.
