5 gates in all; 2 small single gates leading to the North and South lodges; just
within these 2 large double gates to the drives at either side of main building;
and a large, central double gate, all of wrought iron. Square, wrought-iron
piers with pineapple finials. Railings, on low, stone plinth, link all these.
Wrought iron railings of close-set, alternating tall and short standards, the
tall ones plain spikes and the short ones linked arrowheads. Piers and gates
of similar pattern, but gates have a row of circles bearing spikes, above the
lower range of standards. 4 wrought iron lamp holders, one at either side. of
central gate and one at inner side of each outer double gate.
