Stables and coach house. Late C18. Extended and enlarged c1860 by S Daukes
for Lord Ward the first Earl of Dudley. Rendered red brick. Stables and
coach house enclose 3 courtyards west of house; entry at west end flanked by
rectangular lodge-type coach houses, central range aligned north/south with
principal Porte-cochire and further north-south range to west with further
smaller court yard beyond at rear of curved link range to Orangery (qv).
Stable accommodation including tack rooms and further coach houses flank
court yards, single storey pedimented entrance lodges, 2 storey central ranges,
principal one with clock cupola, slightly cambered heads to window openings, 2
flanking doorway to principal porte-cochere, and doorways. Ruinous at time of
survey (1984). Included for group value with Witley Court.
