2/23 Walls, Railings, Gates and
Gate Piers by Elbatch Lodge

Walls, railings, gate piers and gates. Circa 1883, possibly by J P St Aubyn
for J J Jones of Abberley Hall (qv). Central ornamental wrought iron gates
with Jones monogram. Flanked by panelled ashlar gate piers which have
crested tops and squat domical and gadrooned finials. Outer pedestrian gates
and smaller outer gatepiers, similar to centre. Low rubble serpentine walls
to each side terminating in similar piers: the walls are stepped at intervals
and are surmounted by decorative wrought iron railings.
