GV II
Public house. C18, altered mid Cl9. Stock brick, painted and rendered
to front elevation. Plain tiled roof. Double range plan. Three
storeys in 2 builds, with rendered ground floor and modillion eaves
cornice, with heavier moulding to left hand building. Hipped roof
with stacks to end left and to front right. Two sashes on 2nd floor,
and 4 segmental sashes on 1st floor. Ground floor with 3 light
mullioned and transomed and plate glass windows, with doors of 6 panels
and rectangular fanlights to left and to right, central recessed half-
glazed door, and semi-circular headed passageway entrance to end right,
with half-glazed door behind to outshot. Marked on Collard and Hursts
1822 map as the 'Sun' and site occupied on 1735 map of Ramsgate. (See
Busson, Ramsgate, 91).
