Farmhouse and adjoining threshing barn and stable. Late C18 - early C19
with later C19 additions. Coursed limestone rubble with brick dressings and
stacks, colour-washed throughout. Pantile roof to farmhouse, concrete tile
roof to barn. House: 2-room central entrance-hall plan with single-room
addition to right, later wing and outshuts to rear, and barn adjoining to
left. Barn with stable to left stands at north side of crewyard. House:
2 storeys, 3 first-floor windows; symmetrical frontage to earlier section.
Panelled door beneath segmental brick arch flanked by single 4-pane sashes
and one plate-glass sash to right with sills and segmental arches. First
floor: three 4-pane sliding sashes with sills. 3-course stepped and cogged
brick eaves cornice. Tumbled-in brick to right gable. Axial and end
stacks. Barn and stable, south front: 2-storey, 3-bay barn with single-
storey 3-bay stable adjoining to left. Quoins. Barn: blind arcade of
3 full-height round arches with ashlar imposts. Central board door beneath
timber lintel flanked by pairs of blocked ventilation slots to side bays.
First floor: blind square panel to central bay, flanked by casement to left
beneath timber lintel, blocked opening to right. 3-course stepped and
cogged brick eaves cornice. Stable: central board door flanked by slatted
wooden ventilation hatches beneath segmental arches. Brick eaves cornice,
tumbled-in brick to left gable. Rear: barn has board door beneath timber
lintel flanked by ventilation slots, blocked central first-floor opening
with ventilation slot and casement to right (left side obscured by later
outshut); C20 inserted door to stable. Farmbuildings adjoining to south are
not of special interest.
