Hotel. Core of building 1690, largely rebuilt 1748 and early C19.
Rendered and painted brick with slate roof. Four storeys and basement
with cornice to parapet, and hipped roof with stacks to rear. Canted
corner. Four sashes with 1 to corner on 3rd floor, and 3 storey canted
bay to right on 2nd, 1st and ground floor, with 3 sashes to left on each
floor. Two plate windows to left on ground floor and double panelled
doors with fanlight. C19 extension to left of 4 storeys and basement
the same height as main range, with 2 sashes to each of 3rd and 2nd
floors, large plate glass window and balcony on 1st floor, with glazed
C20 bar front on ground floor.
