Farmhouse. Plaque with initials and date S in East gable, possibly earlier
R S

core, C19 and C20 alterations. Stone rubble walls with limestone quoins and
plinth; steeply-pitched graduated greenslate roof with projecting corniced stone
gutter; stone copings and kneelers and 2 end chimneys. 2 storeys plus attics.
3 windows: C20 sashes with vertical glazing barns in stone surrounds. Central
door with mid C19 limestone porch with pilasters and flat hood on consoles,C20
glazed double doors. Single-storey gabled extension to left with decorative
barge boards. Gabled porch on East with decorative barge boards and finial and
C20 glazed outer doors. Interior has staircase of 4 flights through to attics:
the 2nd flight is a c19 insertion with open moulded string and turned balusters in
groups of 3. Other flights C18 with closed strings, turned balusters, square
newels and moulded handrails. 6-panelled late C18 or early C19 doors around
landing; small C19 panelled cupboards in bedroom. C17 ledged and battened oak
door with arched head in heavy oak surround in East gable. Panelled surrounds
to windows.
