This asset was previously listed twice under List entry 1089151 in Ware Rural Civil Parish. This entry was removed from the list on 01/12/2014.

Watermill, now a house. C17 or earlier (said to
be rebuilt 1580 with 2 wheels), stopped working 1926, converted to house
1961 retaining one wheel. Brickwork plastered generally (timber frame
said to survive in walls) but red brick curved shaped gable on S end.
Steep old red tile roof. A long 2-storeys building, bridging the River
Rib with 2 arched openings from the mill pond on the E side, and a
single arched forebridge on the W. Irregular 6-windows W front divided
by arched opening to wheels in centre, now the house entrance. S half
has late C18 domestic features with 3 recessed sash windows to upper
floor, panelled and half-glazed front door under a flat hood, and a
canted bay window with sashes of 6/6:12/12:6/6 panes. Recessed casement
windows on both floors in N half but segmental moulded doorhood at rear
carried on C18 scrolled acanthus consoles formerly on the front. Notable
shaped gable end on S in irregular brickwork, with raised floorbands.
