of tower to Church of St John
the Baptist
GV II
Four chest tombs. Mid C18-early C19. Limestone. Group
comprises 1 with stylised foliage carving and tall moulded capping,
inscribed to Francis Sweet, died 1737; 1 with beaded panels and
reeded pilaster strips, inscribed to JOHN TOMBES, died 1813; 1
with plain recessed panels, inscribed to JAMES TOMBES, died 1798;
and 1 with carved borders to panels, inscribed to JAMES TOMBES,
died 1758.
