SEZINCOTE SEZINCOTE PARK SP 13 SE 4/115 Wellington memorial behind Sezincote House Orangery II Former chimney to orangery at NGR 1707 3125 re-used as memorail to Wellington victories. Early C19. Coursed squared and dressed limestone with cast-iron memorial plaques. Square plan. Plinth with tapering chimney above with battlemented top with moulding below. Cast-iron plaque on south side with some lettering missing: 18_5 / WATERLOO / 18th JUNE / PARIS / CAPTURED / _ JULY. Plaque at higher level on west. WELLINGTON / 1800 / DEFEAT / OF DOONDIA / WAUGH / 10 SEPTR. Plaque on south side repeated below. Plaque recording defeat of Doondia repeated on north side. Monument may once have had further memorial plaques.
