7/310 Lychgate at Church of St. Saviour


GV II


Lychgate. Mid C19, probably contemporary with Church of St. Saviour
(q.v.) 1848. Ashlar piers in form of 3 joined stepped buttresses
with hipped Cotswold stone slate roof with gablet and cross
saddlestone with iron cross finial. Sprocketed roof supported on
central splayed post carried on braced beams. All beams chamfered.
Original timber and iron double gates. The whole has cobble stone
base on Church side.
