15/226 Burleigh Tower

Detached house. Late C19 incorporating earlier farm buildings.
Coursed and squared rubble limestone; ashlar chimneys; stone
slate roof. Two-storey with attic; irregular plan with 4-storey
tower on south east corner. South front: 2 gables at different
heights with shaped barge boards, left incorporating earlier
masonry. Canted single-storey bay window to left; various 4-pane
sashes. Roughly central segmental arched doorway, ground floor
with long conservatory porch. Circular tower on corner to right
has various small casements to lower floors; upper part left
incomplete with unglazed window openings, crenellated parapet and
no roof - ruinous effect. East side: crenellated parapet runs to
right from tower. Full gable to right with shaped barge boards.
Various 4-pane sashes. C20 lean-to alteration to ground floor with
large glazed doors. Crow-stepped gable to north end. A folly
house on the edge of Minchinhampton Common.
