House with attached warehouse. Late C18. Coursed rubble limestone, smooth render to front of house; brick additions to rear; brick chimneys; Welsh slate roof. Two-storey with attic; 2-storey warehouse at south end; 2 rear wings. West front: house to left with 2-window fenestration, 3-light chamfered mullioned casements to ground floor under continuous string course, 2-light to upper floor and in eaves-mounted gabled attic dormers, all with iron casements. Central doorway with Regency iron porch with tent hood. Warehouse to right has central Venetian window and 2 eaves- level gabled dormers with deep 2-light casements. Square-headed doorway to left approached up flight of stone steps. North gable end in brick has painted plaster advertisement 'JAMES SMART/COAL STONE & SALT MERCHANT/BOATS & BARGES TO ALL PARTS/DEALER IN STAFFORDSHIRE.....'. Two rear wings to house. Two tall 2-light mullioned casements to rear of warehouse and central dormer with 2- light casement. Interior not inspected.
