Steps to churchyard with railings
and adjacent boundary wall to
Jaynes Court

II

Flight of steps, railings and boundary wall. Early C19,
restoration of steps dated 1896. Limestone; coursed rubble wall;
iron railings. Approximately 50 steps in 4 unequal flights. Top
step to second main flight inscribed 'SEEK THOSE THINGS WHICH ARE
ABOVE'; top step of lowest flight inscribed 'THESE STEPS RESTORED
1896'. Adjoining boundary wall on west side has plain coping;
blocked square-headed doorway leading from one landing of steps.
Wall continues to provide important visual feature on west side of
churchyard. Iron railings to east side of steps are terminated by
stone pier.
