C18 refronted earlier/mid C19. Painted brick with band at 2nd floor, brick eaves
cornice and coped parapet. Double span, old tiled roof. 3 storeys. 2 windows
2nd floor, 4 windows 1st floor; unbarred sashes with moulded architraves and baracketed
labels. C19, delicate iron balcony along the width of 1st floor above modern shop
fronts.
All the listed buildings on High Street and Union Street, with the listed street
lamps form a group, together with Nos 1 and 2 and the Parish Church of St Peter
and St Paul, Church Place and with the Red Lion Hotel and No 10 East Street. (No
45, High Street is of local interest).
