C18 and C19. Formerly 2 buildings the southern one part of corner block on West
Street (qv). Southern section of painted brick with coped parapet and pantiled
roof. 2 storeys. 1 window to High Street and 1 to West Street, sashes with boxed frames, late C19 glazing and plain architraves to High Street windows. Earlier C20, altered shop front, corner door. Northern section refronted in earlier to mid C19. Stucco facade with side and centre pilasters and moulded cornice forming coping to parapet. Double span, old tiled hipped roof with gable ends to street visible above parapet. 3 storeys. 2 windows, sashes in moulded architraves with bracketed late C19 glazing. Altered C19 shop front ground floor.
All the listed buildings on High Street and Union Street, with the listed street
lamps form a group, together with Nos 1 and 2 and the Parish Church of St Peter
and St Paul, Church Place and with the Red Lion Hotel and No 10 East Street. (No
45, High Street is of local interest).
