The ground floor of no 58 has a left side plank door and right side early C19 curved bay shop window with flush-panelled C19 door, the top panels later glazed. Ground floor has an early C19 curved bay shop window and left side moulded architrave with four-panelled door. Rear elevation to nos 58 and 59 has three cambered tripartite windows to first floor and cambered doorcase with wide C18 door. Attached two storey C18 brick washhouse in header brickwork with plank doors and casement windows.
INTERIOR: No 59 has a C17 open fireplace with wooden bressumer and chamfered spine beam and floor joists to the ground floor front. No 58 has an exposed spine beam to the ground floor front room and upright posts and wattle and daub visible above. An upstairs rear room of no 59 has a wall painting along one wall of grapes and flowers such as roses and tulips which could date from either c1630 or c1731. The first floor has C18 wooden panelled partitions. Two early C19 winder staircases and plank doors. The ground floor front room of no 58 has an early C19 wooden fireplace with reeded architrave and paterae and china cupboard with serpentine shelves. The rear room has a simpler early C19 fireplace and plank door. The rear range of nos 58 and 59 is C18 with angled queenstruts, purlins and pegged rafters without ridgepiece. The roof to the front range which was not inspected was said to be relatively modern.
A timberframed building at least early C17 in origin, with C18 and early C19 alterations and many original features including a C17 or C18 wall painting.
