House. C17, early and late C19. Mixed walling; mostly flint (part coursed) with
brick and stone quoins, brick flat and cambered arches, plinth at 2 levels, cement
and roughcast rendering, tile-hanging to part of the upper floor, one fragment of
exposed framing, and a 4-light stone-framed mullioned window. Low-pitched hipped
slate roof, rear outshot with a steep tile roof. A timber-framed lobby-entrance
house of 3 bays, with south-west extension (early C19), and recladding of the C17,
early and late C19; south front of 2 storeys, 2.1 windows. 5 Victorian sashes and
2 casements to the front, casements (and one rear sash) elsewhere. 6-panelled door
in a plain frame, within a gabled trellis porch. Interior: the frame is exposed,
and there is a massive chimney-breast: one room has C17 oak panelling, and there is
a C17 oak staircase with turned balusters. The gateway to the plain flint fore-
court wall has simple brick piers and a wrought iron gate set within wrought iron
piers, with a cast-iron top (of the mid C19).
