Small country house. Late C18 incorporating early C18 building with C19 enlargements.
Blue header brickwork and red brick dressings, old plain tile roof. 5 bay by 2 bay
late C18 block added at right angles to end of C18 3 bay farmhouse, and extended
at other end with 2 similar bays in C19 and enlarged to rear. Front 2 storeys,
5 bays with added 2 bays slightly set back to left and C19 conservatory to right.
Central bay of original block slightly projecting, with brick pilasters on each
corner supporting timber cornice broken and carried up in form of small open
pediment. Early C19 rendered Doric porch, and under C19 6-panel door, half-glazed
and plain rectangle fanlight. 4 C19 tall 12-pane sashes, 1st floor string course,
4 C19 12-pane sashes and in centre C18 round headed 15-pane sash. All windows
with rubbed brick arches. 2 C19 bays similar except tall 18-pane sashes on ground
floor. Moulded cornice to hipped roof with C19 stacks behind ridge. Interior to
late C18 block has contemporary features such as chimneypieces,dados and cornices,
but staircase C19.
