5.12.55 II*

Rectory now private house. 1693 on tablet altered C19. Colourwashed brick
part rendered, roof slated. 2 storey and attic, 5 bay 2-span house with 2
storey extension to rear with C19 -service wing behind to left. S, garden
front 2 storey 5 bay, stuccoed with incised masonary lines C19. 5 ground floor
windows C19 15-pane triple-hung sashes with sills lowered to ground. 5 C18
12-pane sashes on lst floor, with wide raised architrave around central
window. Moulded timber cornice and pediment over 3 central bays with oval
plaque in tympanum with date. C19 slate pitched roof with along centre of
roof wide flat leadwork. Gable end stack near front at right and lengthways
positioned large stack in centre of lead roof near left end. Right gable has
C19 flat roofed square porch in centre with 12-pane sash above stack towards
front and 2 small casements in attics as well as a casement with 12-pane sash
above in end of addition along rear. Remains of good terraced garden with fine
cedar, and lime walk running W.
