drive 150 m. N.W. of
Avington House

Carriage drive lantern. Early C19. Cast iron. Open cast iron work of
plinth with 4 corner columns splaying outwards at the top to support square
base which holds glass-sided case around lamp. From centre of plinth rises
barley sugar column which contained later gas supply to lamp.
