SK 21 NW PARISH OF DRAKELOW WALTON ROAD

Grove Farmhouse
II

Farmhouse. Mid C18, altered in mid C19 with C20 additions. Red
brick with gauged brick and stone dressings, plain tile roof
with brick gable stacks and dentilled eaves band. Two storeys,
plus garrets and five bays with double range plan. Central
doorcase has bracketed hood, half glazed panelled door and plain
overlight. To either side there are canted bay windows which
have dentilled cornices, margin light sashes to front and plain
sashes to sides. Above there are five margin light sashes below
flat brick arches with raised stone keyblocks. Attached to
south gable wall is a C20 lean-to garage of no special interest.
Rear range has two storey canted bay to south elevation with
plain sashes below plain stone lintels.
