Terrace of houses, part now hotel. 1844-47. Gault brick,
partly stuccoed and colourwashed. Slate roof. 3 storeys on a
basement. Each house of 2-window range in form of a doorway
and a 3-storey canted window bay (Nos 28-36) or a 2-storey
canted bay (Nos 37-41). Cast-iron balcony at first floor of
canted bays supported on pierced iron brackets. Doors
originally of 2 vertical panels. Plain doorcases except for
Nos 35 & 36 which have Corinthian pilasters. Fenestration now
mixed but originally of 2/2 unhorned sashes to ground floor,
French doors to balcony, one 3/6 and one 2/2 unhorned sashes
to second floor of those without full-height canted bays. 2/2
sashes to those with the higher bays. Original doors remain at
Nos 25, 26, 28 & 30. Some original windows at Nos 26, 27, 28,
30 & 36. Gabled roof with ridge stacks at intervals.
INTERIOR: stick-baluster staircase with ramped and wreathed
handrail.
