Barn adjacent to Birchinley Hall Farmhouse

Barn. Late C17 or early C18. Squared rubble with graduated
stone slate roof. Five structural bays with later (or rebuilt)
outshut to left of cart entry and outshut addition to full
length of rear which has been altered in C20. Cart entry
with timber lintel now blocked. Quoins to left outshut.
Square-cut door surround to extreme right. Two similar doors
to left return (one blocked). Large opening inserted in
right gable end. Through-purlin roof, the four tie-beam trusses
having inclined struts and chamfers with run-out stops.
