Village school and pumphouse, converted to house. Possibly 1849, the date at which
the voluntary school was established. Whitewashed rendered sandstone ; slate roof
with deep eaves, gabled at ends ; divided chimney stack with paired shafts and brick
stacks on south side.
Plan: Rectangular on plan with a porch on the north side and a projection on the
south side, containing the village pump.
Exterior: Single storey. The south elevation (facing the road) has 2 large small-
pane transomed windows to left and right and a small window between the halves of the
divided stack. The pumphouse has deep eaves and a louvred round-headed window on the
gable end, door to pumphouse on left (west) return. The south elevation has a gabled
porch and similar windows to the north elevation. The right (east) return of the
building has a round-headed louvred window and retains the school bell.
Interior: Not inspected.
