Farm Cottage to Sampsons Farm, the farmhouse no longer exists. Probably late C18.
Colourwashed rendered cob and stone rubble ; thatched roof, gabled at ends ; end
stacks with brick shafts, the right end stack projecting.
Plan: Single depth 2 room plan cottage with an approximately central entrance into
the left-hand room which has a stair against the rear wall with a winder with a
straight flight. Single-storey C20 outshut and C20 lean-to at left end.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Symmetrical 3-bay front with a central C19 panelled front door
with a gabled brick porch with slate roof and 2-light C19 casements, 8 panes per
light ; similar casement on right return.
Interior: Plain. The right-hand fireplace has an exposed timber lintel, the original
stair survives.
An attractive small cottage which has not been drastically enlarged.
