Lodge to Oxton House. 1860s. Whitewashed and stuccoed, brick and stone construction
(information from owners): slate roof, gabled at ends; rendered stacks with moulded
cornices.
Plan: 2 single depth blocks at right angles to one another.
Exterior: Single-storey. Asymmetrical front, projecting to the front at right end,
which ahs a canted bay window with a C19 12-pane sash in the centre and 4-pane
flanking sashes. C20 front door to the left with a hipped lead-covered porch hood,
12-pane C19 sash to the left. The right return has a C20 French window with margin
glazing and there is a gabled projection at the right with a 12-pane sash.
Interior: Not inspected.
An attractive small lodge, group value with the Hermit's Cave (q.v.). Spring Lodge
matches Pier Lodge (q.v.).
