Dutch barn with integral cattle shed. Circa early to mid C19. Red
brick in English garden wall bond and weatherboarded timber frame.
Treble Roman pantile roof with gabled ends and catslide over
cattleshed. 7-bay barn, open on north west side. The south east side
has a cart entrance in third bay from north east end and an open-
fronted cattle shelter against bays 4-7 with an axial feeding passage
behind the mangers at the back. The end bays of barn have later
inserted loft.floors. Seven-bay open north west front with slender
timber posts on stone plinths. The lofts of the end bays are
weatherboarded. The south east elevation facing yard has cart entrance
to right of centre, weatherboarded to right and to left, the main roof
is carried down as catslide over a 4-bay cattle shed with timber
posts. The brick left hand (SW) return doorway to feeding passage with
cambered arch and plank door, left hatch to right and triangular
wooden dovecote hung on end of barn to left. Interior: The barn roof
has queen-post trusses with struts and trenched side purlins. Long
straight braces rise from the arcade posts to the tie-beams. The
cattle-shed also has original roof structure with tie-beams trusses
with struts and trenched purlins and a wooden manger with a feeding
passage behind, across the'back of the cattleshed.
