6/49 The Old Vicarage

Former vicarage. Dated 1710, extensively altered mid - late C19.
Ashlar facing to main elevation, coursed sandstone rubble to rear and to
adjoining service range, slate roof; hipped to front range. Double depth
plan with central entrance and stair well, later service range adjoins
at west of main house. Two storeys with attics and cellar. Five windows,
later inserted plain sash windows with horns, 2 to east placed at higher
level, ground floor; large inserted paired sash window and C20 glazing
bar sash window to west of entrance; 4 stone steps up, formerly with porch,
6-panelled door. Lintel bears date and initials R L with coat of arms,
damaged fire insurance plaque above. Three plain sash windows to service
range.
