6/28 Group of two Fletcher
memorials approximately 5 m
south-west of west tower
of Church of St Giles

GV II


Two chest tombs. Ashlar. Late C17 or early C18. Moulded plinth and capping,
shaped consoles flank semi-circular shaped inscription panel with lower swag
and further top scroll to long sides, oval wreath with bow to end panels,
east end containing Fletcher monograms. Tomb to north commemorates John
Fletcher died 1670 and Thomas Fletcher died 1699, that to the south commem-
orates Thomas Fletcher died 1708. Inscriptions largely illegible.
